From the Inside Flap
At 0552 hours on the morning of December 26, 1996, a hysterical Patsy Ramsey called 911 to proclaim that her 6-year-old daughter had been kidnapped from her home. A ransom note had been left by a "foreign faction" who stated that they didn't care for the way her husband did business and demanded $118,000.00 for the safe return of their daughter. The brutalized body of JonBenet Ramsey would eventually be found concealed in the basement of her home by her father later that day. The investigation into JonBenet's kidnap and murder endured 15 years of missteps, resignations, scandal, false accusations, arrests, and the controversial exoneration of her family for any involvement they may have played in the cover-up of her death. Intruder theorists have continued to dominate the public perception of the crime since day one, but that is about to change. Breaking six years of silence, James Kolar now comes forward to share startling new discoveries made during his lead role in the inquiry. Foreign Faction provides an overview of the historical track of the investigation, and the prevailing theory of the involvement of a lone-intruder / sexual predator is disassembled once piece at a time. It includes a critical analysis of the physical evidence, family - witness statements, behavioral clues, and the "Touch" DNA evidence that calls into question whether one single perpetrator could have been responsible for this crime. The journey of these investigative discoveries will leave you spellbound and crying out for justice long before you turn the last page...

Compelling work, reads like a novel
By Jerry Hoover
Jim Kolar has written a very compelling book about the JonBenet Ramsey murder. The Boulder Police Department's original response to this investigation was amateurish at best, but more likely incompetent and lacking in professional ethics. While Kolar was not one of the original investigators, he had access to the case files and plenty of time to work it as a cold case. His writing style is entertaining as this book reads like a novel, but is factual and analytical. Other than Tom Wickman (who rescued the case from the original incompetents), Kolar is one of the most knowledgable people who has gone public. Even some of the original investigators have not taken the time to look at this case in the way Kolar did. It should be noted that Kolar is more interesting and truthful about this murder than any of the television pundits who decided that because they worked for some East Coast police department twenty years ago, that they should be considered experts!
I now use this book in one of my college criminal justice classes so that students can see the good and bad elements of a criminal investigation. FULL DISCLOSURE: I know Jim Kolar and Tom Wickman personally and worked with both of them (prior to the JonBenet murder). They are two of the best cops I have served with.

A must read!
By Nancy Grace fan
I have followed this case for years and thought I had read everything about it. There is much information in this book that I didn't know. I've never wavered in thinking that one of 3 or all 3 people in that house were responsible for JonBenet's death, whether purposefully or accidental. Sorry, the elaborate staging and coverup not only didn't fool the Boulder police, but it didn't fool me either. The intruder theory is an insult to an average person's intelligence. Do not for one minute blame the Boulder police. It is a book of fact and evidence. You can form your own opinions. Money and power really can protect someone who is guilty. What parent who's child is kidnapped and murdered in their own home within hours leaves the house to run errands? What parent within hours of their child's violent death wants to hop a plane to another state? Interesting that Patsy Ramsey changed her style of handwriting after having to give handwriting samples. Too many obvious lies by the Ramseys. To Mary Lacy, why didn't you tell about all the DNA evidence that was found? You are proof that dishonest people can be in positions of power. I hope JonBenet's face is the last thing you see before you go to sleep at night and the first thing you see when you wake up every morning. Shame on you. You may not want to offend John Ramsey, but you have offended me in your actions.
The only drawback to this book is that it is not available on kindle yet, but it is well worth the money spent if you are at all interested in this case or just like reading police and legal books. Thank you Mr. Kolar for bringing us the real facts.

EXCELLENT!!!!!
By Theresa Robinson
James Kolar organizes the evidence in this case to lead the reader to a conclusion. The evidence is real and the conclusion becomes obvious when presented to the reader.
I followed this case for many years and had actually come to the same conclusion as Kolar. But to see the actual facts laid out so that the trail can easily be followed makes this book exceptional.
For years there's been so much speculation and misinformation regarding the actual facts of this case. The Ramsey media team fed the world so much partial information and half-truths that many people never knew what to think. (Very similar to politicians.) The media would latch on to any tidbit to boost ratings and so much of what was printed was misleading.
James Kolar lays out the evidence piece by piece in his book and it's hard to refute where that evidence leads.
Most people think that the DNA evidence legally exonerated the Ramsey family, that fallacy continues in the media to this day. The case remains open as a cold case with the Boulder Police Department.
For those of you who've followed the case you will find some new evidence in this book. For those of you who haven't followed the case closely but just want to know the truth - you'll be astonished.
This case will never be prosecuted. But it was high time that an official, with access to all the evidence, had the courage to come forward and speak the truth.
Thanks Mr. Kolar.
